The 49th SITO National Congress was held in Bari from September 27 to 29, 2026, at The Nicolaus Hotel.

Following the opening ceremony on September 27, two days of intense discussion and scientific debate took place among leading experts in the field. The theme of the congress, “Connecting Expertise in Transplant Medicine: Science, Care and Future Perspectives,” emphasized the integration of expertise, the sharing of networks, and the clinical, organizational, and ethical challenges of modern transplant medicine. The comprehensive program provided a complete overview of the latest developments and innovations—ranging from organ perfusion technologies and robotic surgery to the application of Artificial Intelligence—with a special focus on young researchers.

The event also featured key moments for connection and networking, including the gala dinner held on the evening of Monday, September 28.
