The 48th SITO National Congress was held in Milan from 21 to 23 September 2025 at the NH Milano Congress Centre hotel. The congress opened with an inaugural ceremony in the Aula Magna of the University of Milan, attended by special guest Germano Lanzoni in the guise of his well-known character, the Milanese Imbruttito.

This was followed by two days of discussions and debates involving 350 participants and over 130 speakers. The theme of the congress, “Shaping the Future of Transplant Medicine: Challenges and Breakthroughs”, reflects the era of great change that the sector is currently undergoing. The programme offered a comprehensive overview of the most recent and significant developments in the field, with presentations on the most promising and revolutionary innovations.

The event also included various networking opportunities, including a social dinner at Spazio Polene inside the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology.
