The 24th National Congress of AIIC (Italian Association of Clinical Engineers) was held at the La Nuvola Convention Center in Rome from May 15th to 18th, 2024. For EGA, this marked the 7th consecutive year of managing the congress, which has seen significant growth since 2018 in terms of participants, sponsors, exhibition area (sqm), speakers, abstracts, and projects presented.
The chosen keywords for the 2024 edition were Chronicity, Territory, and Proximity—three key aspects for the sector that were addressed through discussions, presentations, and projects in a packed program featuring over 160 national and international speakers. There were 40 thematic sessions, 8 workshops, and 12 training courses, with over 900 attendees.
A large exhibition covering 7,000 square meters with over 100 exhibitors was set up in less than two days. Numerous machineries and innovations were on display, offering participants the opportunity to explore the future of the sector and foster new relationships and collaborations.
There were also several opportunities for socializing and entertainment, starting with the opening ceremony at the Auditorium of La Nuvola, featuring Paralympic champions Bebe Vio and Emanuele Lambertini as special guests.
This was followed by two social evenings: one at the Sanctuary, a well-known venue in Rome with a large garden and tropical atmosphere, and the other at the Santo Spirito in Sassia complex, a historic and religious site built in the 12th century, which became Rome’s first hospital in 1911.
