Congresso SICV-GIS Milano 2026

The 47th National Congress of the Italian Society of Spine Surgery SICV&GIS was held in Milan from May 7th to 9th at the Marriott Milan Hotel. The event, the first for the society to feature a co-presidency, focused on two major main themes—spinal deformities and spondylolisthesis—to which two pre-courses were dedicated, featuring international guests and extensive discussion of clinical cases.

The congress recorded over 400 participants who took part in a rich program with 35 scientific sessions, workshops, and several lectures by distinguished national and international colleagues. In addition, 40 companies from the sector participated in the event, featuring an exhibition area of over 360 sqm, within which 22 symposia were held.

The event was further enriched by 3 additional opportunities for high-level training and discussion:

• The Video Session: featuring 8 surgical videos shown on rotation;

• The Poster Session: with over [xxx] posters available for digital consultation via numerous screens spread throughout the event area;

• The “Spine Stones” Session: where clinical cases of failure and/or complications were discussed.

Alongside the moments of training and discussion, there were also lighter moments of entertainment and networking, including a performance by the well-known comedian Ezio Greggio at the Opening Ceremony and the social dinner at the famous Osteria dei Binari, featuring a menu dedicated to traditional Milanese dishes.

Among the great new features of this edition was the official App of the SICV-GIS society. Launched in early 2026, the app has quickly become a meeting and networking hub for members (who also have their own dedicated private area) and all spine surgery professionals.
