The WTTC (World Travel and Tourism Council) was held in Rome, for the very first time in Italy, from 28 to 30 September 2025 at the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone. The 25th edition of the Global Tourism Summit, a key event for the sector, brought together over 1,000 delegates from more than 65 countries in the capital, including around 310 CEOs and chairs of leading companies in the sector.

The event, hosted in partnership with the Italian Ministry of Tourism, ENIT, the Municipality of Rome and the Lazio Region, served as a crucial platform for strategic dialogue, focusing on the sector’s future challenges and opportunities, including:

The Summit saw strong participation from Italian institutions, beginning with the opening address by the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, who highlighted the strategic role of tourism for the Italian economy, alongside the Minister for Tourism, Daniela Santanchè.
Over the course of the three-day event, speeches were also given by Ministers Andrea Abodi (Minister for Sport and Youth), Giancarlo Giorgetti (Minister for the Economy and Finance) and Francesco Lollobrigida (Minister for Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry), whilst the President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, made a significant contribution at the close of the event with his concluding remarks on the current state and future of tourism.

Key figures from the international business world were also in attendance, including Anthony Capuano (President & CEO, Marriott International), Jane Sun (CEO, Trip.com Group), William E. Heinecke (Founder, Minor Hotel Group) and Anthony Francis Fernandes (CEO, Capital A Berhad), Pierfrancesco Vago (Executive Chairman of Cruise, MSC Cruises), Luca Cordero di Montezemolo (Chairman, Italo S.p.A.) and Ivana Jelinic (CEO of ENIT).
