The 6^th UNWTO Global Conference of Wine Tourism was held in Alba from 19 to 21 September 2022.

The event provided a unique opportunity for experts across the expanding wine tourism sector to work together towards a common objective: promote wine-tourism destinations and their environment.

For 3 days, more than 300 participants from around the world sharing a common passion for wine, explored the area around Alba and undertook training while discovering all the wines of the Langhe, between workshops, presentations, visits to wine cellars and tastings, and enjoyed the entertainment on offer.

Various locations were set up for the event in Alba – the Giorgio Busca Theatre, the Castle of Grinzane Cavour, Piazza Vittorio Veneto – and Canelli, known as the City of Wine, which was reached by train on a wine-tasting excursion.

The event, managed by EGA, was promoted and organised by UNWTO in conjunction with Ministry of Tourism, ENIT, the Piedmont Region, Visit Piedmont, Visit Langhe Roero Monferrato and the Municipality of Alba.
