SITO ROMA 2023

The 46th National Congress of SITO (Società Italiana dei Trapianti d’Organo e di tessuti) was held from October 8^th to 10^th 2023 at the monumental complex of Santo Spirito in Sassia, the oldest hospital in Rome, activated in 1204 by Pope Innocent III.

Three days of lectures and sessions on topical issues in transplantology, from immunosuppression to overcoming barriers of biological incompatibility, from infectious risk in the donor to infections in the recipient, from whole-hearted donation to pre-transplant organ conditioning, from transplantation in recipients with neoplasia to transplantation in recipients with neoplasia, from new organisational strategies for developing living-donor transplantation to the safety of the living donor itself.

There was no lack of social events, including the Opening Ceremony, during which awards were presented to honorary members, and the Gala Dinner at Villa Medici.
